He then proceeded to decide he couldn’t fix either of my two plumbing problems so offered to knock 20% off the price. He then became aggressive when I suggested I shouldn’t pay for work that wasn’t actually done so I ended up paying. After much back and forth over email and him failing to turn up to fix the problem he had failed to fix first time, I accepted a partial refund but still had paid £350 for precisely zero problems to be fixed. If you want a dodgy tradesperson who will rip you off, then this is your guy.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. They quoted me over £400 for a new tap (plus the £134 call out fee I already paid). Later that same day I got it done for £180, including call out and materials. Total scammers, would not trust them again.

Edit in response to business reply : yes the call out fee was agreed and I was happy to pay that, this is about the quoted ADDITIONAL 400 for a new tap. If I got it done for less than half of your original quote then clearly your pricing is skewed.
As for your discount as a “gesture of good will”; you went down from over 400 to 280. I still declined. But the fact that you were able to cut your price down by that much doesn’t say “good will”, it says “we were hoping you’d fall for the first one, when we can clearly do it for over 100 less”. How quickly can you respond to a water leak?

We offer same-day appointments when our schedule allows. Our hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm and Saturday 9am to 3pm. Outside these hours we take emergency leak jobs, including Sundays, when we are available. Emergency, evening and weekend appointments cost more.

Will my insurance cover leak damage?

It depends on your policy and what caused the leak. We give you an invoice that explains the work we did, and we can provide photographs of our findings. If your insurer needs a detailed written report, we can prepare one for an additional charge.

Who is responsible for a leak on my water supply pipe?

You are responsible for the supply pipe from your property boundary into your home. Thames Water says a confirmed leak must be repaired within four weeks. If the pipe is shared with neighbours, you share the cost. We repair accessible supply pipes inside your property, but we do not repair outdoor underground supply pipes.

What should I do while waiting for help?

Turn off your stopcock to stop the water. Keep away from any electricity the water has reached. Move valuables out of the way and take photos of the damage for your insurer.

Can I get money back on my water bill after a leak?

If you have a water meter, Thames Water may give you a leak allowance. The leak must be fixed within four weeks, you need a plumber’s details and invoice, and you must claim it within three months of the repair. We give you the invoice you need.
